Focus of Fellowship: Project on Research Networking (CIAT): Gain greater understanding of how the Cassava Biotechnology Network for Latin America and the Caribbean and CGIAR centers, such as CIAT and IFPRI, mobilize biotechnological tools to improve food security for the very poor.

Focus of Fellowship: Project on Biotechnology : Transfer Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, a method of amplifying specific DNA sequences, from CGIAR centers to Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA); expose national scientists to PCR applications including livestock, tree and crop biodiversity analysis and gene mapping projects at ILRI and ICRAF.
